Maden Creek offers autumn’s beauty to nature lovers in Türkiye’s Sakarya
The scenic Maden Creek in Türkiye’s Sakarya province has transformed into a stunning display of autumn colors, inviting visitors to experience nature’s seasonal beauty.
Historic gem-adorned in fall colors
Located in the Kocaali district, Maden Creek holds a rich history dating back to the late Ottoman period, when the area was actively mined for lead, borax, zinc, and gold. Today, the once-industrial site is a tranquil retreat, with nature reclaiming the land and transforming it into a popular recreation spot painted in warm autumnal hues.
Surrounded by majestic plane, poplar, willow and fir trees, the flowing Maden Creek creates a picturesque setting for autumn enthusiasts. The area’s vibrant seasonal tones provide a striking contrast against the lush greenery, offering a perfect backdrop for visitors and photographers alike.
Haven for outdoor activities
Kocaali Mayor Turan Yuzucu shared that Maden Creek is now a protected site, preserving its historical significance from the Ottoman era.
“This area, especially beautiful in autumn, is a haven for nature lovers, photographers, hikers, and day-trippers,” Yuzucu said. “Our Maden Creek eco-tourism project carried out with Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality has been completed by the contracting firm. We look forward to officially opening it very soon,” he added.
The region, bathed in the rich tones of fall, has been captured in stunning drone footage, highlighting Maden Creek’s appeal as a must-visit autumn destination in Türkiye.
A perfect eco-tourism spot for nature lovers, photographers and hikers.
