Fenerbahce University has issued a formal statement addressing recent allegations regarding the legality of its tuition increases. The university, established by the Fenerbahce Education, Culture, and Health Foundation and recognized as a legal entity by the Official Gazette on November 24, 2016, found it necessary to clarify these claims.

According to the statement, the university’s Board of Trustees set the tuition fees for the 2024-2025 academic year in compliance with Article 10/1 of the Fenerbahce University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching Regulation.

This regulation, enacted by the Official Gazette on March 25, 2024, mandates that tuition adjustments consider inflation rates and economic developments. The university asserts that the fee increases adhere to legal requirements and that there is no legal misconduct involved.

The university also addressed concerns regarding the absence of early registration discounts for the 2024-2025 academic year. The discontinuation of this discount has resulted in varied increase rates for students who benefitted from early registration in the 2023-2024 academic year. Consequently, all students are now subject to the standard tuition fees for their respective programs.

Fenerbahce University firmly denies the allegations circulating in some media outlets that claim the institution imposed illegal tuition hikes. The administration emphasizes that these reports are unfounded.
