Teams deployed for field assessment
Amasya Governor Onder Bakan told reporters that AFAD teams had been deployed to the area immediately after the tremor and were conducting field assessments with the support of local residents.
“As of now, we have not encountered any adverse situations. Thankfully, there have been no casualties or collapsed buildings. We are grateful for that, and we extend our best wishes to all our citizens,” Bakan said.
He added that residents would be able to return to their homes with peace of mind.
No immediate reports of casualties or significant damage have been released following the earthquake. Turkish authorities typically conduct rapid assessments after such seismic events to determine if emergency response is needed.
Türkiye sits on major fault lines and has experienced several devastating earthquakes in recent years, making even moderate tremors a cause for vigilance among residents and authorities alike.
