Turkish baklava artisans, renowned for their exquisite pastry skills, will be bringing their expertise to Azerbaijan. For the first time outside of Türkiye, the prestigious 13th Traditional Golden Rolling Pin Baklava Masters Competition and Baklava Festival will be held in Baku this October. The event will take place in the historic Icerisehir district, offering a unique opportunity for Azerbaijani and international visitors to savor the delicate flavors of traditional Turkish baklava.

A delegation from the Baklava and Dessert Producers Association (BAKTAD) recently visited Baku, where they met with officials from the Ministry of Culture and Azerbaijani baklava producers.

During the meetings, discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Turkish and Azerbaijani baklava makers and jointly promoting the baklava varieties of both countries in third-party markets.

This time, we are taking the event abroad for the first time, choosing Azerbaijan as our starting point,” said Tasdemir during a press conference.

Tasdemir emphasized that the festival will be held in the historic Ierisehir, noting, “Icerisehir is the jewel of Azerbaijan, and it is only fitting to present our valuable product in such a prestigious location.”
