A Tunisian-born French academic professor Emna Larouchi, highlighted the global significance of Kommagene and Mesopotamia during her visit to Mount Nemrut in Kahta, Adiyaman, Türkiye.

Alongside her husband, Lotfi Larouchi, she emphasized the region’s profound influence on history, faith and art, and its foundational role in technological advancements.

“In meetings around the world, I explain how Mesopotamia’s Hellenistic period offers us valuable lessons in peace and unity,” Professor Larouchi said, adding: “You can witness how the conflicts and wars of today have been preserved for centuries in Kommagene.”

Larouchi recently signed a protocol with Jouhenia Ghreib, Rector of the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Religion at the University of Tunis, and Ahmet Misbah Demircan, the Turkish Ambassador to Tunisia.

This agreement aims to strengthen cultural ties between Türkiye and Tunisia, with plans to increase Tunisian visitors to Kommagene and Mesopotamia.

Lotfi Larouchi emphasized the importance of visiting Mesopotamia and Kommagene to understand how peace and harmony were sustained over the long term.
