The biographical film “Bugday Tanesi” (Grain of Wheat in English), which tells the extraordinary life story of Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Istanbul MP Serkan Bayram, has won the “Best Producer” award at the International Paris Film Festival.

The film triumphed over 1,428 entries from 116 countries, securing its place among the most acclaimed productions of the festival.

Story of resilience, triumph

Directed by Dogan Umit Karaca and featuring Ahmet Kutsi Karadogan, Deniz Arna, and Erkan Bektas, “Bugday Tanesi” narrates the inspiring journey of Serkan Bayram.

Having suffered severe burns over most of his body and lost his hands in a devastating wheat field fire, Bayram overcame immense challenges to build a successful career in law and politics.

An award-winning journey

Released in 2022, “Bugday Tanesi” has already received multiple awards at various film festivals. Its latest victory in Paris highlights the film’s impact in showcasing perseverance and determination against all odds.

This recognition at the International Paris Film Festival not only celebrates cinematic excellence but also brings international attention to an inspiring real-life story from Türkiye.
