Turkish-Hungarian Friendship concert was organized in Tekirdag, Türkiye, as part of the 2024 Turkish-Hungarian Year of Culture celebrations.
The program was held at the Rakoczi Museum, where Prince Rakoczi of Erdel lived for a period and was then turned into a museum by Hungarians. The group called “Gunebakan,” including doctors and university students, performed.
Visitors to the museum showed keen interest in the concert, listening attentively and occasionally joining in with the pieces being sung.
President of Tekirdag Hungarian Friendship Association Adem Dalgic told Anadolu Agency reporter that various events were organized in the city after the declaration of the year of mutual culture between Türkiye and Hungary.
Dalgıç noted that the city has hosted many Hungarian visitors and emphasized, “We organize numerous events with Hungarians, with whom we share deep historical ties. The event was both interesting and delightful. The bond between Turkish and Hungarian people is strong and enduring, destined to last for many years to come.”
Dalgic stated that they will continue organizing various Rakoczi Museum events.
Medical pathology specialist Dr. Neslihan Komut, one of the oudists and soloists of the choir, stated that the two countries have a deep-rooted common history and that they organized an event to remind people of this.
