‘Turkish, Croatian Women’s Art & Photography Exhibition’ opens in Croatia
The “Turkish and Croatian Women’s Art and Photography Exhibition” has opened at the Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) in Zagreb, capital of Croatia.
The exhibition was organized at the YEE center in Zagreb to mark the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye. Attendees included Türkiye’s Ambassador to Zagreb, Nurdan Erpulat Altuntas, YEE Zagreb Director Fuat Korkmaz, and several distinguished guests.
Unique blend of perspectives and emotions
Speaking at the opening, Korkmaz emphasized that the exhibition features more than 50 works reflecting the unique perspectives, emotions, and stories of Turkish and Croatian women artists. He highlighted that the artworks offer insights into the artists’ inner worlds, while also showcasing the cultural commonalities between the two nations.
Selnur Yelen, speaking on behalf of the artists, noted that part of the proceeds from the sale of the artworks will be donated to children with Down syndrome, adding a philanthropic aspect to this cultural initiative.
