The decision comes after controversy surrounding the company’s comments with political protests in Türkiye.
DBL Entertainment, an organizer for major international musicians in Türkiye, has faced intense backlash after comments made by its owner, Abdulkadir Ozkan, regarding protests and boycott campaigns related to former Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu’s arrest over corruption case.
Social media users called for a boycott of the company, citing Ozkan’s stance as the reason behind the call.
Cancellation of Trevor Noah’s show
As a result of these boycott calls, the scheduled performance of Noah in Istanbul was abruptly canceled.
The event’s cancellation was announced on ticket sales websites, though no official reason was provided for the decision.
Additionally, the poster for Noah’s show was removed from DBL Entertainment’s website.
