‘Dedication to Strong Friendship’ exhibition opens in Tokyo, marking the 100th anniversary of Turkish-Japanese relations, featuring collaborative works at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art
The “Dedication to Strong Friendship” exhibition, launched to mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Japan, will open its doors in Tokyo on May 12.
According to a statement from Arnica, the exhibition will be conducted in collaboration with the Jyunten Art Association from Japan and the Pinelo Art Gallery from Türkiye, with support from Ithaf Art magazine, overseen by Arnica Chairman Senur Akin Bicer.
The exhibition will take place at the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Art and will be open to visitors from May 12 to 18.
In his statement, Bicer pointed out that art has a very important function in eliminating contradictions and irreconcilable differences between societies and establishing cultural affinity.
“The exhibition to be opened in one of the world’s leading museums, such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum, is of great importance to me in many ways. First, as Ithaf Art magazine, we are very happy to support such a project. The project is an indicator of our approach to support artists as well as our goal of spreading art to all areas of life,” Bicer said.
Bicer, expressing his passion for Japanese art and culture, highlighted that he creates artworks by blending the Japanese brush art “Sumi-e” with marbling art.
Photographer Serhan Akin’s works will also be exhibited at Design Festa Art Gallery during the exhibition, which will also include talks and performance events.
