Born Fahrettin Cureklibatir (Cuneyt Arkin’s original name) on Sept. 7, 1937, in Eskisehir, and passing away on June 28, 2022, in Istanbul, Cuneyt Arkin was a legendary Turkish actor, screenwriter, producer and director.
Appearing in over 330 films, series and stage productions between 1963 and 2021, Arkin became a household name in Turkish cinema, often portraying invincible heroes in historical films and righteous figures in social dramas.
