Taste Atlas users rate Türkiye’s Bafra, Samsun pitas as world’s best breads
The users of an influential online gastronomy guide, Taste Atlas, have rated Türkiye’s Bafra pita (belonging to the family of yeast-leavened round flatbreads baked from wheat flour) the best in the world, followed by Samsum pita in the “Top 10 Pieces of Bread” list.
The Taste Atlas website, known for highlighting traditional foods, lists the world’s best breads according to users’ choice. Bafra pita ranked first in the top 10, while Samsun pita ranked second.
“The fact that both of our delicacies managed to enter the top two Taste Atlas’s list, an interactive map and information platform with 837,000 followers that offers information about local dishes, drinks and restaurants around the world, will attract the attention of those who want to discover gastronomy tourism destinations and gourmets around the world,” shared the Samsun governorship,
This development is expected to significantly promote Samsun cuisine, which has many local flavors that appeal to both the eye and the palate.
