Renowned American actress Sharon Stone was honored with the “International Icon Award” at a grand event held in Bodrum, Mugla. The ceremony took place at the Bodrum Titanic Luxury Collection, attracting notable figures from around the world.

Stone, who came to Bodrum to receive the prestigious award from the Golden Globe for the first time outside the U.S., expressed her delight in a statement to journalists after her red carpet appearance.

She shared her positive impressions of Türkiye, stating: “I didn’t realize how beautiful this place was before. I came to Bodrum with a fantastic team, and I am thrilled to be here. The hotel owners treated me exceptionally well, and I had a wonderful day exploring many bays. Wearing the Beşiktas jersey was also a great honor for me, as my son is a huge football fan.”

During her acceptance speech, Sharon Stone expressed gratitude to the Golden Globe for their support in philanthropic matters, saying, “I am thankful and honored for the support the Golden Globe has provided to my work in charity and other areas.”

Helen Hoehne, Chair of the Golden Globe Board, expressed excitement about honoring Stone as the first recipient of this prestigious award. Hoehne remarked, “Sharon’s tremendous contributions to cinema and philanthropy made her an obvious choice for this award. We are also pleased to launch this award in Türkiye, a hub of many creative endeavors.”

Barbaros Tapan, a Golden Globe Board Member who worked for over a year to bring the first International Golden Globe Icon Award to Turkiye, emphasized that international celebrations will continue in the country.

The event was attended by many prominent figures from the arts and business worlds, including Gulse Birsel, Ozcan Deniz, Sila Turkoglu, Taro Emir Tekin, Sevval Sam, Gulseren Bugdayıcioglu, Mine Kaplakcioglu, and Nesrin Cevadzade.

The evening was hosted by Kerem Bursin and Busra Pekin.
