Over 20 artists from Balkan countries visit Türkiye's Edirne

The artists continue to display their artworks in Selimiye Square, Meric Bridge, Karaagac Quarter and Devecihan Cultural Center in Edirne

Over 20 artists from the Balkan region visited Türkiye’s Edirne to attend the 1st International Balkan Symposium organized under the Governorship of Edirne in Türkiye.

The 25 painters are from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Serbia.

The artists continue to display their artworks in Selimiye Square, Meric Bridge, Karaagac Quarter and Devecihan Cultural Center.

Under the chair of Governor Yunus Sezer’s executive board, Edirne Governorate Balkan Cities Cooperation was established to enhance cooperation with Balkan countries more effectively.

The platform will organize the 1st International Balkan Symposium in cooperation with Trakya University.

The symposium to be held on March 7-8 will focus on the cultural and artistic aspects of the Balkans.

The works of painters depicting the city will be presented at the “Edirne from the Brushes of Balkan Painters” exhibition at Trakya University Balkan Congress Center on March 7. The exhibition is part of the symposium.

The symposium’s President Mustafa Hatipler, told reporters that the painters had been in Edirne for 10 days.

Hatipler noted that the academicians from Balkan countries participating in the symposium will discuss the Balkans in many aspects, from literature to history, music to architecture, economy to culture and art to sports.
