Netherlands marks 100th anniversary of friendship treaty with Türkiye
The 100th anniversary of the Türkiye-Netherlands Friendship Treaty was celebrated in Rotterdam with various cultural events, including folk dances, choir performances, and a magic show by illusion artist Kubilay Tuncer
Rotterdam marked the 100th anniversary of the friendship treaty signed between Türkiye and the Netherlands in 1924 with an event held at the Consulate General of Türkiye and Klaket Production.
At the event, folk dances, choir groups, and shows prepared by children were presented. Illusion artist Kubilay Tuncer also performed a magic show.
At the event, the results of the “Türkiye-Netherlands Friendship” themed painting competition organized by the Consulate General in Rotterdam from March 21 to April 22 were also announced.
As part of the festivities, the Consulate General in Rotterdam also organized a painting competition from March 21 to April 22 around the theme “Türkiye-Netherlands Friendship.” The winners of the competition were announced at the event.
Among the paintings drawn by children between the ages of 7 and 13, 9-year-old Defne Peker won the competition with her painting depicting the friendship between the two countries.
In her speech at the event, Consul General of Rotterdam Sevgi Kisacik said that various events were held throughout April across different locations to commemorate the centennial of the friendship between the Netherlands and Türkiye.
