Türkiye’s Mehmetcik Foundation

The Mehmetcik Foundation of the Turkish Armed Forces was established in 1982 in Ankara to provide social assistance. It offers financial support to the families of soldiers who died or became disabled during their military service, as well as to veterans and disabled soldiers.

The foundation was created due to the need for social assistance, since the state only provides support for those who die or become disabled while on duty. It was founded on May 17, 1982, by the military command.
