Mersin State Opera & Ballet opens 2024-25 season with spectacular concert
The Mersin State Opera and Ballet (MDOB) officially kicked off its 2024-2025 season with a captivating opening concert.
Held at the Mersin Cultural Center Opera Stage, the concert was conducted by Tulio Gagliardo Varas, with the choir led by Anil Aydin. The performance featured choreography by Ender Ucdemir, costume design by Hatice Kapti, lighting design by Tari Deniz, and video and projection work by Umut Sinan Ozdemir. The overall direction of the event was managed by MDOB Artistic Director and Manager Serbulent Bicer.
Star performers and ballet solos enchant audience
The concert showcased an impressive lineup of vocalists, including Ecem Yazoglu, Simge Buyukedes, Sevinc Demirag, Nihan Cetin Aydin, Asude Karayavuz, Bulent Bezdüz, Aydin Ustuk, Mehmet Ali Tutar, and Tuncay Kurtoglu. Ballet solos were performed by Risa Ochiai, Yukiko Ito, Tugay Ak, Burak Serkan Cebeci, Yusuf Ozan Demirbas, Meltem Ayar, and Jonghee Park, captivating the audience with their graceful moves.
The MDOB orchestra, choir, and ballet artists joined forces for the event, creating a truly immersive experience for all attendees.
Notable guests attend opening concert
In addition to local art enthusiasts, the event was attended by prominent figures, including Deputy Governors Murat Cagri Erdinc and Ahmet Gazi Kaya, as well as Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Secer.
