La Casa de Papel’s star joins cast of epic series ‘Mehmed: Sultan of Conquests’

The acclaimed series “Mehmed: Sultan of Conquests,” which features the renowned Hollywood actor Ghassan Massoud, is set to add another globally recognized star to its cast in its second season. Luka Peros, best known for his role as “Marseille” in the hit series “La Casa de Papel,” will be joining the show.
Peros is slated to portray Giovanni Giustiniani, a key commander in the defense of Constantinople during its final days under the Byzantine Empire, particularly during the historic siege by the Ottoman Empire.
Who is Luka Peros?
Peros, born on Oct. 28, 1976, in Zagreb, Croatia, is a versatile actor known for his multilingual abilities, speaking eight languages fluently. He began his acting career after graduating from the American Community School in Abu Dhabi in 1995. His early roles in Croatian cinema included appearances in “The Three Men of Melita Zganjer” (1998) and “Kanjon opasnih igara” (1998). He also featured in notable productions such as “La Femme Musketeer” (2004) and “Zabranjena ljubav” (2006).
Peros gained international recognition with performances in films like “The Hunting Party” (2007), “BloodRayne: The Third Reich” (2011), and “Megan Leavey” (2017). His career spans various genres, from historical dramas like “Max Schmeling” (2010) to action films such as “Panzer Chocolate” (2013) and “Black Beach” (2020).
His breakout role on the global stage came with the character Marseille in “La Casa de Papel” (2019-2021). The character, known for his calm and enigmatic demeanor, played a significant role in the series, contributing to its worldwide success and bringing Peros widespread recognition.
