Istanbul Modern, Bosch Home Appliances launch project for young girls
Istanbul Modern and Bosch Home Appliances launch a special project for young girls to support gender equality in art education
Istanbul Modern and Bosch Home Appliances have prepared a special one-year development program for young girls who want to develop their talent and artistic perspective. The “In the Footsteps of Dreams” project is inspired by female artists whose works are included in the Istanbul Modern Collection.
The project aims to encourage female students to discover their talent by drawing inspiration from the experiences and work of female artists.
Academics, artists, curators, art historians, and museum experts will implement the program in cooperation with schools, local governments, and nongovernmental organizations. Female students in ninth grade and above who want to receive an education in the field of art can apply with a teacher’s reference.
Forty students from public schools in different districts of Istanbul are participating in the project.
The project comprises seminars, lectures, and workshop programs with the aim of introducing young girls to female artists who serve as productive and courageous role models.
The “In the Footsteps of Dreams” project helps young girls strengthen their artistic expression skills and develop productive and innovative perspectives.
The education program, which will continue at Istanbul Modern until June 2024, includes lectures on the history of contemporary art, artwork studies, seminars with artists, workshops and courses.
The project is offered free of charge on Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for 40 female students who have been accepted into the program.
