Pakistani-American author and Islamic scholar Nouman Ali Khan connected with his readers during an event held at Marmara University in Istanbul.
The event, hosted at the Faculty of Theology’s Professor Rasit Kucuk Conference Hall, attracted a large audience, including local and international students, as well as various guests.
Türkiye as meeting point for Muslims worldwide
Khan, who has been in Türkiye for a month, highlighted the significance of Türkiye as a vibrant meeting point for Muslims from around the world.
He expressed excitement about the cultural diversity and the opportunity to engage with a global Muslim audience in Türkiye.
‘World is confronting Israel’
In his speech, Khan emphasized that the Quran is the central motivation behind all his work. Khan stressed the importance of the Quran in guiding a meaningful life and his dedication to spreading its teachings.
Following the event, Khan touched upon the ongoing attacks in Palestine. He remarked, “The world is confronting the reality of Israel like never before.”
He noted a growing awareness, even among non-Muslims, about the situation in Israel and emphasized the need for continued boycotts. Khan urged Muslims to educate themselves on the issue and support legitimate organizations, highlighting the importance of informed action.
After the two-hour program, Khan signed books for his readers. He expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming interest he received in Türkiye and hoped that these interactions would be mutually beneficial.
Who is Nouman Ali Khan?
Born in East Germany in 1978 to a Punjabi Pakistani family, Nouman Ali Khan spent his early childhood in East Berlin.
He later became an Arabic instructor at Nassau Community College before founding the Bayyinah Institute for Arabic and Quranic Studies.
Recognized by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre as one of the world’s most influential Muslims, Khan continues to teach courses on Classical Arabic and the Quran.
