Global music icons perform in Türkiye during first half of 2024
In the first six months of 2024, Türkiye played host to an array of international music stars.
In March, renowned pianist Evgeny Grinko performed in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, while Portuguese artist Salvador Sobral performed for the first time in Istanbul at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall following his Eurovision victory.
During April and May, Lara Fabian brought her world tour to Istanbul, and violin virtuoso David Garrett graced the stages in Izmir, Ankara, and Istanbul.
June saw Imany touring Türkiye with her new album “Voodoo-Cello,” while Andrea Bocelli captivated audiences at the BJK Tupras Stadium.
Soprano Olga Peretyatko delivered an enchanting performance at the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall, and Buena Vista Social Club reunited for a memorable show in Istanbul. In July, Nancy Ajram performed at the Istanbul Congress Center, and Loreena McKennitt delighted fans at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater. Pink Martini held concerts in Antalya and Istanbul.
The Istanbul Jazz Festival showcased globally acclaimed artists including Gregory Porter, Arlo Parks, Yolanda Brown, Chris Isaak, and Joshua Redman Group. Kucukciftlik Park hosted metal legends Scorpions, Megadeth, and Deep Purple, while Goran Bregovic performed in Cesme and Istanbul.
Massive Attack and Judas Priest delivered standout shows at Bonus Parkorman. Gipsy Kings brought the essence of Latin music to Istanbul, and various other international artists provided unforgettable experiences throughout Türkiye.
The first half of 2024 underscored Türkiye’s rich cultural landscape and its role as a vibrant hub for global music.
