Turkish flavors are introduced with special tasting events at the “Foodex Japan” fair held in Tokyo, the capital of Japan

Foodex Japan, one of the largest food fairs in Asia, opened its doors at the Big Sight campus on the Tokyo coast on Tuesday. This year, 51 companies are eagerly waiting to cater to Japanese customers at the dedicated Türkiye pavilion, spanning approximately 1000 square meters.

The Türkiye pavilion hosts a variety of activities ranging from special tasting events to food seminars and promotions.

Ozlem Gokkan Vural, the branch manager overseeing Türkiye’s participation in the fair, informed Anadolu Agency that this year’s turnout marked a record high.

“Because it is very difficult to touch people without tasting, especially in a country like Japan,” Vural said, emphasizing the importance of being able to taste the products of companies in the special tasting area.

Vural noted that the renowned sushi and sashimi of Japanese cuisine were crafted using Turkish salmon and tuna, leading to long queues in the area.

Vural highlighted that Aegean and Mediterranean flavors, such as olive products and olive oil, were extensively showcased through various activities during the fair.
