Cretan and Turkish rhythms enchant crowds at Side’s Apollo Temple

The International From Crete to Side Culture and Taste Festival in Antalya’s Manavgat district concluded with an unforgettable night of music at the iconic Apollo Temple. Organized with the support of Manavgat Municipality, the event brought together the rich sounds of Crete and Türkiye in a setting steeped in history.
Star performances blend tradition and modernity
The festival’s grand finale featured Platinum Record award-winning artist Sofia Vossou alongside the popular Turkish group Necati ve Saykolar, known for fusing Anatolian rock with contemporary rhythms.

Together, they performed a vibrant selection of Cretan and Turkish songs, delivering both nostalgic classics and fresh modern tracks that had the audience swaying under the stars.
The concert attracted a wide range of attendees, including Manavgat Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara, Deputy Mayor of Chania Municipality Eleni Zervoudaki from Crete, visiting chefs, and hundreds of locals and tourists, all eager to soak up the festive atmosphere.
Oscar-winning classic ‘Zorba’ presented in special screening
As part of the festival program, Side‘s Antique Harbor Cultural House hosted a special screening of “Zorba,” the 1964 film adaptation of Nikos Kazantzakis’ celebrated novel. The three-time Oscar-winning film captivated audiences once again, offering a cinematic journey into Greek cultural heritage.
