Chiharu Shiota’s ‘Between Worlds’ exhibition opens at Istanbul Modern
Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota’s highly anticipated exhibition, “Between Worlds,” has opened at Istanbul Modern as part of the 100th-anniversary celebrations of diplomatic relations between Japan and Türkiye.
During the press conference for the exhibition, Shiota expressed her delight at showcasing her work in Istanbul, a city that bridges Asia and Europe, both geographically and culturally. It’s a powerful representation of the global cultural dialogue,” Eczacibasi noted.
The exhibition comes at a meaningful time for both nations, according to Eczacibasi, who highlighted the museum’s mission to strengthen international cultural exchanges. She added, “Shiota’s large-scale installation, created specifically for Istanbul Modern, offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore a profound story inspired by the city’s crossroads of continents.”
