The 37th International Izmir Festival, organized by the Izmir Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education (IKSEV), is in full swing, captivating art lovers with unforgettable performances.

The festival, sponsored by Eczacibasi Group and backed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism along with other organizations, kicked off with a well-attended concert by the Camerata Balcanica Ensemble at the historic Agora Ruins

Who comprises Camerata Balcanica ensemble?

Camerata Balcanica is one of the best cultural projects in the Western Balkans, showcasing the region’s most potent creativity and the synergy of different ethnic characteristics.

This orchestra, where each member combines unique artistic expression with the characteristic warm Balkan temperament, operates as part of the ArtLink festival in Belgrade.

ArtLink provides young classical musicians with career development opportunities and promotes cultural change and cooperation in the Western Balkans.

In this context, Camerata Balcanica contributes to the unity and new branding of the Western Balkan Region while helping young artists develop their creativity and professionalism.

The orchestra offers master classes and workshops led by prominent artists and mentors such as Vienna Philharmonic Concertmaster Fedor Rudin, violinist Pavel Dolezal, cellist Istvan Vardai, and others. This allows young musicians to enhance their artistic skills.

Enchanting performances in cultural heritage sites

Camerata Balcanica regularly performs in the main concert halls and the most stunning open-air cultural heritage sites in the Western Balkan Region, organizing tours and receiving support from many international organizations in recent years.

Recently, ArtLink released the “Music for Peace” album performed by Camerata Balcanica’s soloists Lana Zorjan and Laura Llozi. Pianist and festival director Jovanka Visekruna Jankovic is the founder and artistic director of the ensemble. This album aims to spread the message of peace and unity through music.
