Bulgaria-Türkiye Haute Couture Fashion Show dazzles Türkiye’s Ankara
The Embassy of Bulgaria in Ankara hosted the Bulgaria-Türkiye Haute Couture Fashion Show, showcasing the remarkable designs of Bulgarian designer Ivan Donev.
The event was attended by Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Türkiye, Anguel Tcholakov, alongside foreign mission representatives and invited guests.
Ambassador Tcholakov welcomed attendees, expressing his delight: “It is a great honor to host you on this beautiful evening celebrating fashion, music, beauty, and most importantly, Bulgarian-Turkish friendship.”
Designer Ivan Donev: ‘Decade of creative excellence’
Tcholakov recounted his first encounter with Donev over a decade ago during an international young designer award ceremony.
Praising Donev’s impressive body of work, the ambassador highlighted the designer’s unique contribution to the global fashion scene.

Donev’s latest project, “Golden Hands of Our Grandmothers,” took center stage during the fashion show. Ambassador Tcholakov revealed that Donev called for contributions of lace months ago, receiving pieces from Bulgaria and around the world.
These intricate laceworks were integrated into the designer’s collection, which graced the runway during the event.
