Barbie wins 6 awards at 49th People’s Choice Awards
At the 49th People’s Choice Awards, ‘Barbie’ dominated the night with six wins, including ‘Movie of the Year’
The results of the 49th People’s Choice Awards, whose winners were determined by public voting, were announced and ‘Barbie,’ starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, received a total of six awards.
Actor Simu Liu was the host of the night held at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
“Oppenheimer,” focusing on the life of American physicist Julius Robert Oppenheimer, which critics deemed worthy of many awards this year, won only one award.
The race between both films at the box office sparked discussions among the public on social media. These discussions, called “Barbienheimer,” went from comparing the films and deciding which one was better to a phenomenon where people commented on social, cultural and ideological issues.
