Andrea Bocelli to perform 30th-anniversary concert in Istanbul in June
Renowned Italian tenor, songwriter and composer Andrea Bocelli will perform a special concert in Istanbul on June 8, 2024.
The event will take place at the Besiktas Tupras Stadium and is part of Bocelli’s 30th anniversary celebration as a performer.
Bocelli’s concert in Istanbul promises a diverse repertoire, featuring classic arias from Italian and international operas, as well as songs from his internationally successful albums.
Known for his extensive work in both operatic and popular music, Bocelli has recorded numerous arias and Neapolitan songs and has collaborated with artists such as Celine Dion and Sarah Brightman.
Over his career, he has sold over 90 million records and earned six Grammy and six Latin Grammy nominations. Bocelli also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ahead of the concert, Bocelli held a press conference in Istanbul on November 6, 2023, where he shared his thoughts on the upcoming performance and conveyed messages of peace.
He reflected on music’s power, saying: “If my music can improve the current global conditions, I am happy to give up my voice for peace. I believe war is not only horrific but also the most foolish mistake humanity can make.”
Bocelli also shared his excitement about performing in a stadium, stressing the unique thrill of addressing a large audience and the challenges of optimizing acoustics in such a venue.
“When we talk about a stadium, it gives a different kind of excitement. It is delightful to address a large audience, but making full use of the acoustics can be challenging, so we prepare thoroughly in advance,” he said.
Bocelli’s connection with his audience has grown stronger over the years, a sentiment he expressed by acknowledging the mutual energy exchange during performances.
“I feel the excitement from you. Music becomes a unifying force. I do my best to make this happen,” he noted.
Bocelli’s Istanbul concert is eagerly anticipated by his fans and promises to be a memorable celebration of his illustrious career.
