500 children from 29 nations gather for TRT Children’s Festival in Ankara
The 46th edition of the world’s first international children’s festival ‘TRT International April 23 Children’s Festival’ will bring together 500 children from 29 countries in the capital
Türkiye’s public broadcaster, TRT, is hosting the 46th annual April 23 Children’s Festival. The festival, which began in 1979, will bring together 500 children from 29 countries.
This year’s festival theme is “Children of the world are united for peace,” and Palestine is the guest of honor.
Before the festival festivities begin, the children will embark on a special visit. They will first meet their peers receiving treatment at Ankara Etlik City Hospital. Following this visit, the children will head to Anitkabir, the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, and then pay their respects to TRT’s General Director Mehmet Zahid Sobaci, the festival’s host.
Children coming from all over the world for the festival will participate in the festive march, which will take place at the Ankara National Garden on April 21 at 1:30 p.m. Türkiye time.
The festival will feature mini dance performances by selected countries on a stage set up in the National Garden. Afterwards, the popular TRT Children’s production Rafadan Tayfa musical will be performed.
Various shows and activities will also be presented at the event, which will be open to the public.
Gala Program to be held at Presidential Complex
On April 22, the children participating in the festival will have a special visit to Türkiye’s Parliament. They will be hosted by the Speaker of the Assembly, Numan Kurtulmus. During the visit, the children will have the opportunity to share messages.
On April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, TRT 46th International April 23 Children’s Festival Gala Program will be held at the Presidential Complex with the participation and patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
