Widespread outage hits Meta platforms worldwide
Meta’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger, experience a global outage, affecting users in various locations
As a global outage spreads across many regions, users of Meta’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Messenger, reported having trouble logging in on Tuesday.
Down Detector, an internet traffic watcher, has reported major problems occurring on Tuesday across several Meta platforms. The scope of the outage points to a worldwide effect, impacting people in many locations.
The extensive interruptions were verified by Netblocks, a London-based internet monitoring company well-known for supporting internet freedom. Netblocks reported on Tuesday that login-related problems were affecting Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Threads in a number of different countries. The company did point out that there were no signs of the usual government-imposed internet censorship or interruptions.
Head of Meta’s communications Andy Stone addressed the continuing issues on X, previously known as Twitter. Stone informed consumers that the corporation is actively addressing the problems and recognizes their existence.
