Türkiye’s tea exports earn nearly $20M between January and October
Türkiye’s tea exports totaled $19.8 million in revenue from January to October 2023, with 4,009 tons of tea shipped to 118 countries and regions.
- Leading export markets: Belgium was the largest importer, purchasing $6.57 million worth of Turkish tea, followed by the United Kingdom at $3.17 million, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) at $1.52 million.
- New export markets: Turkish tea exports expanded this year, reaching new countries such as Dubai, Guinea-Bissau, Tunisia, Cuba, and Cambodia.
- Rize’s role: Rize, a key tea-producing region, accounted for 44% of Turkiye’s total tea exports. From Rize, 2,461 tons of tea were sent to 25 countries, generating $8.68 million in revenue.
Looking ahead
With high expectations for the final months of 2023, Turkish officials are optimistic about achieving strong export numbers in 2025.
