Türkiye’s renowned Japanese food chain hacked, private data of thousands exposed

Turkish restaurant group BNS Food has announced a data security breach affecting its Japanese food chain SushiCo, leading to the exposure of customers’ personal information on Feb. 28, 2025.
In a company statement sent to customers via email, it was revealed that unauthorized access had led to the exposure of certain customer data.
The compromised information includes names, surnames, contact details, and order history.
However, the company emphasized that credit card details were not stored in its systems, ensuring that the breach did not pose any direct financial risk.
Following the incident, cybersecurity experts launched a thorough investigation, and the company has since addressed security vulnerabilities.
Additional preventive measures have been implemented to prevent similar breaches in the future.
The company has also warned customers to remain vigilant against potential fraud attempts and advised them to be cautious of suspicious emails, SMS messages, or phone calls.
