Türkiye’s international reserves hit record $159.4B
Türkiye’s international reserves reached an all-time high of $159.4 billion last week, according to data released by the central bank on Monday. This marked a slight increase of 0.02% compared to the previous week.
Year-to-date and recent increases
The report indicated that $93.5 billion of the total reserves were held in foreign exchange, reflecting a minor decrease of 0.03% from the prior week. In contrast, gold reserves experienced an uptick, rising by 0.5% to $65.89 billion, up from $65.57 billion.
At the start of 2024, Türkiye’s international reserves were around $127 billion. By early October, they had risen to $156.3 billion, underscoring steady growth throughout the year.
