Türkiye’s electric vehicle charging points surpass 25,000
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) has announced that the number of electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Türkiye exceeded 25,000 in November, reflecting steady growth in the country’s EV infrastructure.
According to the “Monthly Charging Services Market Statistics” report published by EPDK, the total number of charging sockets increased by 3.1% in November compared to the previous month, reaching 25,096. At the end of October, the figure stood at 24,334.
Significant annual growth in charging infrastructure
Year-on-year data highlights a substantial increase of 134.5% in EV charging points. In November 2022, the number was recorded at 10,701.
Meanwhile, the number of registered electric vehicles rose from 155,319 in October to 167,519 by the end of November.
AC and DC charging points show steady increase
The report indicates a rise in both alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC) charging points:
- AC charging points increased from 15,029 to 15,327.
- DC charging points climbed from 9,305 to 9,769.
Installed power capacity reaches 1,644 MW
The total installed power capacity of charging stations grew by 76 MW in one month, reaching 1,644 MW.
