Türkiye’s Dogus to open first 5-star hotel in Croatia’s Zadar with $60M investment

Türkiye-based Dogus Holding is preparing to open the only five-star hotel in Croatia’s Zadar, with a total investment of $60 million, to welcome its first guests on May 1.
Hyatt Regency Zadar, which has transformed the historic Maraska building into a hotel, features 110 rooms and 23 suites. Originally constructed in 1821 by Italian entrepreneur Girolamo Luxardo, the Maraska building once served as the headquarters and warehouse for the famed Maraska liqueur brand.

The revitalized complex will also include exclusive boutiques, restaurants, cafes, clubs, and a dedicated children’s area, offering a comprehensive lifestyle experience.
In February, the company sold its shares in the Astir Palace Hotel in Athens to Greek shipowner George Procopiou for €150 million ($163.15 million) for its 33.75% stake in the luxury resort.
Founded in 1975, Dogus Holding is one of the largest Turkish conglomerates, with investments spanning tourism, construction, automotive, media, and finance. Its tourism arm currently operates 13 hotels across four countries and seven cities.
