Türkiye’s daily electricity production exceeds consumption

Türkiye’s daily electricity production surpassed consumption on Monday, according to data from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS). The country generated a total of 1 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of electricity, while consumption stood at 996,698 MWh.
Hourly data showed that electricity demand peaked at 12 p.m., reaching 47,221 MWh, while the lowest consumption was recorded at 5 a.m. with 33,340 MWh.
Natural gas power plants accounted for the largest share of production at 25.8%, followed by imported coal-fired power plants at 23.7% and hydroelectric dams at 10.1%.
Additionally, Türkiye exported 13,096 MWh of electricity while importing 629 MWh throughout the day.
