Fatih Karahan, governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), will join leading monetary policymakers in Washington, D.C, for a high-level panel focusing on how central banks are confronting persistent inflation across both advanced and emerging economies.

The session is part of the Global Outlook Forum hosted by the Institute of International Finance (IIF), held alongside the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

Scheduled for April 23, the forum will open with a keynote address by IIF President Tim Adams. Karahan will take part in a panel titled “Dilemmas for Central Bankers Amid Shifting Global Liquidity Conditions”, running from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. (GMT-4). The discussion will center on navigating tightening global liquidity, volatile capital flows, and the lasting impact of previous interest rate hikes.

The session will be moderated by Marcello Estevao, managing director and chief economist at the IIF. Alongside Karahan, other speakers include Philip Lane, member of the European Central Bank’s Executive Board, and Vladimir Werning, vice president of the Central Bank of Argentina.
