Türkiye’s carpet industry engages UAE retailers during Dubai trade mission

Members of Türkiye’s Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters’ Association (GAHIB) held their first sectoral trade delegation event of the year in Dubai on Monday, bringing together Turkish carpet exporters with importers and representatives from major retail chains in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement released by the association, GAHIB Chairperson Zeynal Abidin Kaplan emphasized the effectiveness of such trade missions and noted that they are supported by Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade.
Highlighting the delegation’s achievements, Kaplan said, “Within a short time, we had the opportunity to hold concrete business meetings with numerous buyers, both face-to-face and through product samples. We are diligently implementing our board’s decision to organize delegations to at least eight countries through four different programs annually.”
$85 million of exports in 2024
Kaplan also noted the satisfaction of participating companies, adding, “Our commercial counselors based in these countries show great dedication and effort to ensure the success of our delegations. Our ambassadors and consuls general also lend their support. All that remains for us is to take our place at the table and host our customers.”
Following the Dubai program, the delegation is scheduled to continue its activities in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Türkiye’s carpet and floor covering exports reached over $85 million in 2024, marking a 6.4% increase from $80 million in 2023.
