Minimum wage in Türkiye becomes ₺22,104 ($628), effective from January 1, Labor and Social Security Minister Vedat Isikhan announced on Tuesday.

“We have determined the net minimum wage to be valid as of January 1, 2025 as 22,104 liras. We have also increased the minimum wage support, provided by the state, for each minimum wage earner from ₺700 to ₺1,000,” he said.

‘Most balanced level’

Underlining that the minimum wage is determined through a social dialogue mechanism, Isikhan added that they worked to adopt “the most balanced level” by evaluating macroeconomic and conjunctural dynamics as well as the suggestions of worker and employer representatives.

Meanwhile, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed the new rate, expressing hope that it will benefit the nation. On social media, Erdogan stated, “In 2025, the minimum wage will be applied as ₺22,104 net with an increase of 30 percent. May it be beneficial to our country and nation.”

The current minimum wage is a gross monthly rate of ₺20,00.50 ($567.95), equating to a net figure of ₺17,002 ($483) after deductions.

For employers, the total cost per worker is ₺23,502.94, which includes the gross minimum wage, a social security premium of ₺3,100.39, and an unemployment insurance contribution of ₺400.05.
