Türkiye and US discuss investment opportunities, economic cooperation
Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz met with Khush Choksy, senior vice president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, on Wednesday to discuss investment opportunities and economic cooperation between Türkiye and the United States.
Focus on Türkiye’s medium-term economic program
The meeting highlighted Türkiye’s Medium-Term Program for 2025-2027, which outlines the nation’s economic plans and steps to attract foreign investment. Yilmaz shared insights into the country’s efforts to improve the investment landscape and presented details about its International Direct Investment Strategy.
“We had the opportunity to discuss our International Direct Investment Strategy, the steps we have taken and will take to improve the investment climate, and the investment and cooperation opportunities in our country,” Yilmaz wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“During our meeting, we had the opportunity to evaluate the targets and policies we foresaw in the Medium Term Program covering the 2025-2027 period that we announced last week, the incentive programs such as YTAK and HIT-30 that we have recently implemented, our International Direct Investment Strategy, the steps we have taken and will take to improve the investment environment, and the investment and cooperation opportunities in our country.” Yilmaz added.
HIT-30 program: Boosting high-tech investments
A significant part of the discussions revolved around the HIT-30 Program, an initiative aimed at promoting high-technology investments in Türkiye. The program, launched in July, aims to allocate $30 billion in resources, including tax incentives and grant support, to foster growth in advanced technology sectors.
Vice President Yilmaz expressed optimism that this meeting would enhance bilateral relations and trade between Ankara and Washington, D.C. while opening new avenues for investment cooperation.
