The project “Supporting Registered Women’s Employment Through the Promotion of Educated Childcare Providers,” designed to assist working mothers, has received an overwhelming response.

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Isikhan provided details about the $350 (€325) support program.

Over 15,000 applications in 5 days

The Social Security Institution (SGK) will provide monthly support of €325 for 12 months to 3,500 insured mothers with children aged 0-24 months. In just five days, over 15,000 Turkish mothers applied for the project.

Minister Isikhan emphasized that increasing women’s employment is a priority for the ministry, and they are continuing efforts to encourage women’s participation in the workforce.

Isikhan highlighted the importance of balancing work life and family. He noted that applications for the EDU-CARE II project, supported by the EU and implemented by the Social Security Institution (SGK), began on June 3.

Support for 7,000 women for 12 months

Minister Isikhan confirms that 7,000 women, including 3,500 mothers and 3,500 caregivers, will receive support for registered employment for 12 months.

Additionally, eligible mothers in Ankara, Izmir and Istanbul will receive incentive payments for the caregivers they employ until their children reach 36 months of age.

We will provide monthly support of ₺11,400 for each working mother. The total support for insured mothers will amount to €13,000.

Minister Isikhan indicated that the necessary technical infrastructure has been planned and offices have been established.

Currently, 15,166 applications have been received. Registration will remain open until July, with support payments to mothers slated to begin in August.
