Türkiye-based retail giant BIM has inaugurated its fourth logistics center in Morocco. The company aims to open three additional logistics centers in the country by 2027, bringing the total to seven and creating more employment opportunities.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Moroccan Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, praised BIM’s investment efforts to expand its operational footprint, highlighting the new project’s potential to generate jobs for 1,000 people.

“The new logistic center will enhance BIM’s use of local resources while contributing to increased competition in the distribution sector. This initiative will directly and indirectly create employment for 1,000 individuals, further supporting local socio-economic development,” Mezzour stated.

‘Reflecting our dedication to customers’ needs’

During the ceremony, BIM CEO Haluk Dortluoglu emphasized that the Marrakesh logistics center demonstrates the company’s strong commitment to Morocco. He stated:

Morocco’s proximity to Europe, cultural diversity, diversified economy, evolving infrastructure, and dynamic population provide us with the confidence to continue investing here. The launch of this new logistics center not only supports the region’s economic dynamics but also reflects our dedication to efficiently meeting the growing needs of our customers. With the Marrakesh logistics hub, we aim to contribute to local employment and economic growth.

The logistics center, spanning 16,000 square meters of covered space, is designed to meet the logistical needs of central and southern Morocco, including Marrakesh.

It is expected to streamline supply and distribution operations, reduce delivery times and logistics costs, and improve service quality for consumers.

The facility is projected to create approximately 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.
