Turkish manufacturing sector witnesses a slight uptick in capacity utilization rate for March, with the manufacture of paper products leading in usage at 85%
The Turkish manufacturing sector witnessed a marginal improvement in its capacity utilization rate for March, with an increase of 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous month, according to official figures released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT).
“In March, the capacity utilization rate of the Turkish manufacturing sector stood at 77.2%,” the CBRT reported.
Providing further insights, the figures revealed that both investment goods and intermediate goods maintained a utilization rate of 76.5%, while durable consumer goods recorded a rate of 73.3%.
Diving into sector-specific data, it was disclosed that the manufacture of paper products exhibited the highest capacity usage at 85%, whereas the production of leather products lagged behind with a utilization rate of 62.4%.
The capacity utilization rate statistics are derived from responses collected through a business tendency survey conducted among local units operating within the manufacturing industry.
“This month, 1,731 companies participated in the survey,” the CBRT said.
It is also emphasized that the data presented does not necessarily reflect the bank’s perspectives or forecasts.
