Turkish Finance Minister Simsek attends Munich Security Conference

Türkiye’s Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek attended the “No Money for Terror” meeting and the Munich Security Conference in Munich, Germany, to discuss the international fight against financial crimes.
During the meetings, Simsek outlined Türkiye’s approach to combating organized crime and terrorism financing. In a post on X on Sunday, Simsek described the event as a productive platform for discussing the fight against financial terrorism.
“We shared our country’s perspective on the fight against organized crime and terrorism financing. Additionally, in our bilateral meetings and discussions with investors, we highlighted the progress achieved in our economic program and outlined our priorities for the upcoming period,” Simsek said.

Established in 1963, the Munich Security Conference (MSC) is an annual high-level forum focused on international security policy. Over the decades, it has become a global platform where political leaders, military officials, diplomats, business executives, and experts convene to address critical security challenges.
The 61st MSC took place on Feb. 14-16 at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof in Munich.
The “No Money for Terror” meeting brought together more than 200 high-level officials and experts from various countries and key international organizations to discuss collaborative efforts to cut off funding streams for terrorism.
