Turkish finance minister meets with top German executives at high-level summit
Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, met with senior executives of Germany’s largest companies during a high-profile summit organized by the Stern Stewart Institute in Elmau, Bavaria.
According to information from the ministry, the summit brought together over 50 CEOs, CFOs, and leading academics from Germany’s top corporations.
Türkiye’s finance minister highlights investment focus at summit
Simsek participated in a special session on Türkiye held on the second day of the summit, which began on Sept. 19. The session featured companies with current investments in Türkiye, as well as those considering future investments.
Simsek also met privately with investors, answering their questions about Türkiye’s economic outlook and investment climate.
The meetings were conducted behind closed doors, but Simsek shared insights via social media, stating that interest in Türkiye continues to rise and that his main goal remains to boost international direct investment in the country.
Productive meetings with German executives
“We had productive meetings with executives and investors from large companies in Germany, where we spent about 24 hours,” Simsek wrote on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. “Interest in Türkiye continues to grow. We are intensifying our efforts to increase international direct investments, which is our main goal.”
Simsek returned to Türkiye late Friday night after concluding the series of meetings.
