Turkish chemical exporters join Chinaplas fair to explore expansion opportunities in Asia

The Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters’ Association (IKMIB) participated with an information stand at the 37th edition of Chinaplas, one of the world’s largest international trade fairs for the plastics and rubber industries, held in Shenzhen, China.
According to a statement from the association, Chinaplas is recognized as one of the most significant global events for the plastics sector, bringing together technical equipment, raw materials, auxiliary materials, semi-finished products, technical components, and machinery and equipment relevant to the plastics and rubber industries.
In 2025, the event, hosted once again in Shenzhen, attracted nearly 4,500 exhibitors and was visited by over 280,000 attendees.

Since 2011, IKMIB has organized six national participation programs at Chinaplas and, for the 2024 and 2025 editions, has been represented through an information stand.
At IKMIB’s booth, located in Hall 16, visitors were introduced to Türkiye’s plastics industry and provided with detailed information about the sector.
‘Turkish plastics industry targets new collaborations in China’
In remarks included in the statement, IKMIB Chairman Adil Pelister emphasized that the Turkish plastics sector aims to enhance its visibility in China and across the broader Asian market while also laying the groundwork for new business partnerships.
Pelister noted that Chinaplas, which has been held alternately in Shanghai and Shenzhen since 1983, is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen again in 2025.
He added that, alongside IKMIB’s information stand, six Turkish companies participated in this year’s edition as individual exhibitors.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Pelister stated, “Chinaplas, where leading companies showcase their latest products and services, stands out as the second-largest plastics industry fair in the world after the K Fair and is the largest in Asia.”
“We aim to further strengthen the recognition of the Turkish plastics sector in China and the broader Asian market and to establish new partnerships,” Pelister added.
