Beko’s regional leadership and production goals

The facility is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 1.5 million units, producing a variety of household appliances, including refrigerators, cooking appliances, and dishwashers under the Beko, Whirlpool, Ariston, Indesit, and Hitachi brands. “60% of the products manufactured at this factory will be exported to the Middle East, Africa, and Europe,” said Beko CEO Hakan Bulgurlu.

In Beko Egypt‘s Instagram page, the announcement was made by saying, “Beko has always been dedicated to delivering the finest European quality in home appliances. Today, we proudly fulfill this commitment by Egyptian hands with the grand opening of our new factory, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Transportation, Kamel Al-Wazir. This milestone is part of our vision to make Beko an essential partner in every Egyptian home.”

The factory will create 2,000 jobs and contribute to Beko’s goal of becoming a leader in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Beko currently ranks among the top three companies in Egypt’s market and is the market leader in dishwashers.

Beko to strengthen Africa’s manufacturing capabilities

Beko’s new factory in Egypt strengthens its footprint in Africa, adding to its existing manufacturing presence in South Africa. “By combining our global production and technology capabilities with Egypt’s strategic location, we are creating a crucial regional hub,” Bulgurlu explained.

Beko also opened its 31st R&D center in Egypt, focusing on innovation and product development for the region. “The research center will employ 50 engineers and support the development of new products tailored to regional needs,” said Bulgurlu.

Key Egyptian officials attend inauguration

The factory’s opening ceremony was attended by key Egyptian and Turkish officials, including Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, as well as several ministers and senior Beko executives.

Madbouly emphasized the importance of Beko’s investment in Egypt, calling it “a pivotal moment for Egypt’s economic growth and international influence.”

Beko aims to increase production capacity to 3 million units annually within four years and double its revenue in the region within five years. “The Middle East and North Africa are critical markets for us,” Bulgurlu said, highlighting the region’s potential with a population of 500 million and a home appliances market valued at 13 million units.

Beko’s long-term strategy includes expanding its green energy initiatives, with a commitment to using 100% renewable energy in all its global production facilities by 2030. “Our Egyptian facility is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring advanced water and waste management systems as well as energy-efficient production processes,” Bulgurlu added.
