The flag carriers of Türkiye and Malta have signed a code-share agreement, aiming to significantly expand their destination networks, enhancing connectivity, and providing more travel options for passengers.

According to a statement from Turkish Airlines on Tuesday, this partnership between Turkish Airlines and KM Malta Airlines will take effect on June 15.

It will enable both airlines to offer more flexible travel options for passengers on direct flights between Istanbul and Malta.

Under the agreement, Turkish Airlines will place its marketing flight numbers on KM Malta Airlines flights between Istanbul and Malta, and vice versa.

“Not only does this partnership enable Maltese travelers to benefit from the wide network of Turkish Airlines on a global scale, but it also encourages more visitors from Malta to visit our unique country, Türkiye. Likewise, Malta, the fascinating island nation of the Mediterranean, will attract more visitors,” said Bilal Eksi, Turkish Airlines’ CEO.

KM Malta Airlines Executive Chairman David Curmi emphasized that the deal highlights KM Malta Airlines’ recognition as a preferred partner by major carriers.
