Turkish Airlines cancels 84 flights due to global communication crisis
Turkish Airlines has announced the cancellation of 84 flights in response to a global communication disruption affecting its operations.
The issue, traced back to a software problem caused by CrowdStrike, a cybersecurity service provider for Microsoft, has led to significant operational adjustments.
Turkish Airlenes’s Press Advisor Yahya Ustun addressed the issue on social media, stating, “We are working to reduce operational intensity in response to a global software issue affecting many companies across various sectors. To prevent disruptions in flights, some flights will be canceled. Our flights will gradually return to normal as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to our valued passengers.”
According to a statement from Turkish Airlines’s corporate support account, passengers affected by the cancellations can make changes through the mobile app.
The statement added, “Passengers with domestic tickets can use our mobile app to manage ticket purchases, check-ins, and free ticket changes for canceled flights.”
