Siemens and NVIDIA announce the expansion of their collaboration to enhance industrial metaverse initiatives, bringing photorealistic visualization and productive AI to digital twin technology

Siemens has decided to broaden its collaboration with NVIDIA to enhance its industrial metaverse initiatives.

Siemens and NVIDIA teamed up at the NVIDIA GTC Conference to unveil how AI can revolutionize data visualization by achieving photorealistic imagery for complex engineering projects. The two companies demonstrated how sustainable shipbuilder HD Hyundai could utilize this technology to develop new products.

“Next-generation industrial software allows customers to experience products in the industrial metaverse as they would in the real world, with context and striking levels of realism,” Siemens CEO Roland Busch stated.

He emphasized the significance of integrating interactive visualizations supported by new NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud APIs into the Siemens Xcelerator platform to enhance the effectiveness of AI-driven digital twin technology.

Roland Busch on X: "Happy to welcome @NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang to our Siemens HQ today. At 5pm CEST we will be on stage to talk about the future of industries. Join

Busch also highlighted the future potential for customers to interact with these products through natural language inputs. “Through our collaboration with NVIDIA, we will add accelerated computing, productive artificial intelligence, and Omniverse integration capabilities to the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio,” Busch said.

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang remarked that Omniverse and productive AI bring about a significant transformation for industrial enterprises.

“Siemens is bringing NVIDIA platforms to its customers, offering industry leaders opportunities to create the next generation of AI-supported digital twins at any scale,” he noted.

New product for engineering workflow revolution

In the next phase of collaboration, Siemens plans to release a new product for Teamcenter X by the end of this year. Teamcenter X is the company’s leading cloud-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and part of the Siemens Xcelerator platform.

This system, supported by NVIDIA Omniverse technologies, will provide engineering teams with the ability to create intuitive, photorealistic, real-time, and physics-based digital twins, eliminating waste and errors in the workflow.

The use of productive AI will expedite processes such as material definitions and lighting environments, as well as the establishment and adjustment of other supporting environmental elements with photorealistic visuals.

Tasks that previously took days will now be completed within hours, enabling stakeholders from engineering teams to decision-makers and customers to gain deeper insights into real-world product appearances, facilitating more informed and rapid decision-making.
